The VALUE COLLECTION 015531BR is a hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in mechanical assemblies, industrial equipment, and structural connections. Manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, this fastener provides corrosion resistance and a clean appearance in service environments where moderate oxidation protection is required. The screw uses a 3/4-inch hex drive and measures 2-3/4 inches under the head on a 1-8 UNC thread form. It is fully threaded along its length, making it suitable for through-hole and close-tolerance bolted joints. Machinists, millwrights, and maintenance technicians are the typical end users for this class of fastener.
This screw is well suited for use in fabrication shops, manufacturing plants, and mechanical maintenance settings where UNC coarse-thread fasteners are specified. The 1-8 UNC thread designation is one of the most common coarse-thread standards used in North American industrial and OEM applications. The black oxide coating is appropriate for interior or low-moisture environments where a non-reflective, lightly protected surface finish is acceptable. It ships individually and can be ordered in single-unit quantities to replace a damaged or missing fastener in an existing assembly.
Designed as a standard 1-8 UNC hex socket cap screw for use in any application requiring a fully threaded alloy steel fastener conforming to ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM A574.
Installation should be performed by a qualified mechanic, millwright, or maintenance technician using a calibrated torque wrench and a properly sized 3/4-inch hex key or socket driver. De-energize and lock out all equipment before removing or installing fasteners in live machinery per OSHA lockout/tagout procedures. Do not mix UNC and UNF fasteners in the same tapped hole, as thread mismatch will damage the bore. Apply thread lubricant or anti-seize compound only if specified by the original equipment manufacturer for the joint in question.
