The VALUE COLLECTION 01167022 is a No. 2 wire-size jobber-length drill bit machined from high-speed steel (HSS) with a bright, uncoated finish. It carries a 0.2210-inch decimal diameter and a standard 118-degree split point ground with web thinning for clean entry and reduced walking on flat stock. The overall length is 3.875 inches with a 2.625-inch flute length, giving the bit jobber-length reach suitable for through-hole drilling in a wide range of workpiece thicknesses. The straight cylindrical shank seats in standard drill chucks without additional tooling. Installation is handled by machinists, tool-and-die workers, HVAC fabricators, and maintenance technicians using hand-held or bench-mounted drilling equipment.
This bit is sized for use on aluminum, copper, brass, and other non-ferrous materials where HSS tooling is a common and cost-effective choice. The regular right-hand spiral flute promotes efficient chip evacuation, keeping the cutting edge clear during continuous drilling operations. The tapered web configuration adds column strength while the web-thinned tip lowers the thrust needed to start and complete each hole. It is a general-purpose drill appropriate for production shops, field service work, and maintenance applications where standard wire-gauge hole sizes in non-ferrous stock are routine.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit suitable for use in standard drill chucks accepting a 0.2210-inch straight shank, appropriate for aluminum and non-ferrous workpiece materials.
Secure the straight shank firmly in a keyed or keyless chuck before operation and confirm the bit runs true before drilling. Disconnect or de-energize power tools before inserting or removing the bit. Apply a compatible cutting fluid when drilling aluminum or copper to extend edge life and improve hole finish. Replace the bit when the cutting edges show visible wear or when thrust requirements increase noticeably, as a dull HSS bit generates excess heat that can damage the workpiece.
