The VALUE COLLECTION 011511BR is a hex socket cap screw designed for high-strength fastening applications in mechanical assemblies, tooling, and industrial equipment. It features a 7/8-9 UNC thread and a 4.5-inch length under head, making it suitable for securing heavy components where a low-profile socket-drive fastener is required. Manufactured from alloy steel with a black oxide finish, it provides corrosion resistance in controlled environments and meets the dimensional and mechanical requirements of ASME/ANSI B18.3 and ASTM A574. A licensed machinist, millwright, or maintenance technician typically installs this fastener using a 0.75-inch hex key or socket driver.
This fastener is used in industrial machinery, structural fixtures, precision tooling, and equipment maintenance where partial threading is specified for controlled clamp load and shank engagement. The partially threaded shank provides a smooth bearing surface through clearance holes before the thread engages the tapped bore. Black oxide alloy steel cap screws of this grade are common in manufacturing plants, maintenance shops, and mechanical contracting work where high tensile strength and a clean socket-drive profile are required.
Designed as a standard ASME/ANSI B18.3 hex socket cap screw for use in any application requiring a 7/8-9 UNC partially threaded fastener with a 3/4-inch hex drive.
Installation requires a 3/4-inch hex key or socket drive tool rated for the torque demands of an ASTM A574 alloy steel cap screw. De-energize or lock out equipment before fastener removal or installation per OSHA lockout/tagout requirements. Do not exceed the rated tightening torque for the joint material and do not use impact tools without verifying compatibility with socket-drive cap screws of this size. Thread engagement depth in the tapped hole should meet a minimum of one fastener diameter per standard mechanical practice.
