The Value Collection 01-1041 is a silicon carbide fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal and surface finishing on a range of substrates. At 4-1/2 inches in diameter with a 7/8-inch arbor hole, it mounts to standard angle grinders and disc sanders via a resinoid-bonded backing plate. The 120-grit, fine-grade abrasive delivers controlled stock removal suitable for finishing passes on stone, masonry, cast iron, non-ferrous metals, and hard-to-grind materials where aluminum oxide falls short. Silicon carbide cuts faster and cooler on brittle or hard surfaces, reducing heat buildup and glazing.
This disc is used in fabrication shops, tile and stone work, metalworking, and general surface prep where a fine finish is required after coarser grinding stages. The fiber backing provides rigidity and durability under load, making it effective for both flat and contoured surface work. It is a practical single-disc purchase for maintenance tasks, job-site repairs, or supplementing bulk disc inventory.
Designed for use with standard 4-1/2 inch angle grinders and disc sanders fitted with a 7/8 inch arbor or compatible backing pad.
Installation should be performed by operators familiar with abrasive disc equipment. Verify the grinder's rated RPM does not exceed the disc maximum of 13,300 RPM before mounting. Inspect the disc for cracks or damage before each use and discard any damaged discs. Always use the appropriate backing pad, ensure the arbor nut is secure, and confirm the guard is in place before powering the tool.
