The VALUE COLLECTION 001-1005 is a 7-inch aluminum oxide fiber disc designed for aggressive material removal on metal, weld seams, and surface conditioning applications. Running at up to 8500 RPM, this medium-grade, 60-grit disc uses a resinoid bond and coated abrasive construction over a fiber backing for durability under high-pressure grinding. The 7/8-inch arbor hole fits standard right-angle grinders and disc holders common in fabrication, maintenance, and mechanical trade work. Installation is straightforward and tool change is quick with the arbor-hole attachment style.
This fiber disc is suited for use in metal fabrication shops, HVAC equipment manufacturing environments, and general mechanical service settings. It performs on ferrous and non-ferrous metals for weld blending, rust removal, and surface prep before coating or further finishing. The 60-grit medium grade balances stock removal rate with surface finish, making it a practical choice for both roughing passes and intermediate finishing work on structural steel, pipe, and sheet metal.
Designed for use with 7-inch right-angle grinders and disc holders that accept a 7/8-inch arbor hole attachment. Verify that the grinder RPM rating meets or exceeds the disc maximum of 8500 RPM before use.
Fiber discs of this type are installed and replaced by machinists, fabricators, and mechanical service technicians. Always power down and unplug or lock out the grinder before changing the disc. Confirm the backing pad and arbor hardware are in good condition and rated for the disc diameter and RPM. Do not exceed the maximum RPM marked on the disc, and always wear appropriate eye and face protection during operation.
