The UTILITY ENTERPRISES 12-905 is a clear, medium-body PVC solvent cement formulated for joining PVC plastic pipe in plumbing and related trade applications. Packaged in a 1/4 pint can with an integrated dauber applicator, this fast-set, low-VOC cement bonds PVC pipe and fittings quickly and cleanly. It meets NSF and ASTM D2564 standards, making it appropriate for potable water, drain, waste, and vent systems where code-compliant materials are required. Licensed plumbers and pipefitters rely on solvent cement like this for permanent, pressure-rated joints on plastic pipe systems.
This cement is rated for use on PVC pipe up to 8-inch diameter Schedule 40 and 6-inch diameter Schedule 40. It is suited for residential and light commercial plumbing installations, including supply lines, DWV runs, and irrigation systems. The dauber-top can allows direct, controlled application to pipe and fitting surfaces, which is particularly useful when working in tight spaces or making multiple joints in sequence on a service call or new installation.
Designed for use with PVC plastic pipe and fittings, rated for 8-inch diameter Schedule 40 and 6-inch diameter Schedule 40 PVC pipe applications.
PVC solvent cement work is typically performed by a licensed plumber following applicable local plumbing codes and IPC guidelines. Before applying cement, cut pipe square, deburr the end, and dry-fit the joint to confirm alignment. Apply cement to both the pipe end and the fitting socket, assemble with a quarter-turn, and hold briefly while the initial bond sets. Work in a ventilated area, as solvent fumes are present even in low-VOC formulations, and keep the can closed when not in use to prevent premature evaporation.
