The USA INDUSTRIALS BULK-PS-UHMW-790 is a white UHMW (ultra-high-molecular-weight) polyethylene plastic bar measuring 0.75 inches thick, 1.25 inches wide, and 48 inches long. UHMW polyethylene is widely specified in industrial and mechanical applications for its outstanding abrasion resistance, impact resistance, and low coefficient of friction. The material machines cleanly with standard shop tooling, making it a practical choice for fabricating custom components on-site. This bar stock is sold as a single piece and is handled by machinists, fabricators, and maintenance technicians across a range of industries.
UHMW polyethylene bar stock in this size is commonly used in conveyor systems, machine guards, equipment housings, wear strips, guide rails, and slide surfaces. Its combination of toughness and machinability makes it suitable for both light fabrication work and higher-volume production environments. The white color is standard for general-purpose UHMW and does not indicate a food-grade or FDA-compliant designation unless separately verified by the installer or procurement team.
Designed as a general-purpose UHMW polyethylene bar stock for fabrication into conveyor components, machine guards, equipment housings, wear strips, and similar industrial parts where abrasion resistance and toughness are required.
Cutting and machining of UHMW polyethylene should be performed with sharp tooling to prevent material deformation or melting from heat buildup. Standard woodworking and metalworking equipment including bandsaws, table saws, drill presses, and mills can be used with appropriate speeds and feeds. When fastening UHMW components, account for the material's thermal expansion characteristics and avoid over-torquing fasteners, which can cause stress cracking over time. Fabricators should consult applicable machinery safety standards and facility-specific maintenance lockout and tagout procedures before installing components in live equipment.
