The USA INDUSTRIALS BULK-PS-PTFE-268 is a virgin polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) rectangular bar stock used in industrial, mechanical, and trade fabrication applications. Machined or cut to shape, virgin PTFE delivers exceptional chemical resistance, a low coefficient of friction, and stable performance across a wide temperature range. This bar measures 3/8 inches thick, 4 inches wide, and 48 inches long, weighing approximately 4.5 pounds. It is white in color with a dimensional tolerance of 0.060 inches. HVAC, plumbing, and industrial technicians rely on PTFE bar stock for fabricating custom gaskets, seals, slide pads, bearing surfaces, and pipe support components.
This PTFE bar is suited for residential and commercial mechanical applications where chemical inertness and low friction are required. Common uses include fabricating custom valve seats, flange gaskets, pipe hangers, slide plates, and dielectric isolators. Its non-reactive nature makes it appropriate for use in plumbing systems handling aggressive fluids, chemical process lines, and HVAC assemblies where corrosion and galvanic reaction must be eliminated. The 48-inch length provides sufficient stock for multiple cuts in a single piece, reducing material waste on the job.
Designed as a general-purpose virgin PTFE bar stock suitable for custom fabrication of seals, gaskets, bearing pads, and other mechanical components across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and industrial process applications.
PTFE bar stock is typically cut and shaped by machinists or skilled trade professionals using standard woodworking or metalworking saws and drill equipment - carbide-tipped tooling is recommended for clean cuts. Deburr all cut edges before assembly to prevent interference fits or seal failures. When using fabricated PTFE components in pressurized plumbing or gas piping assemblies, verify that the final assembly meets applicable code requirements under the IPC or IFGC before returning the system to service. Avoid exposing PTFE to open flame or temperatures beyond its rated range, as thermal decomposition produces hazardous byproducts.
