The UPONOR Q4771507 is a reducing coupling designed for ProPEX expansion-style connections in potable water and hydronic piping systems. It transitions a 1-1/2 inch nominal line down to a 3/4 inch nominal line, allowing plumbers to reduce pipe size within a single fitting without additional adapters. The body is constructed from polysulfone and modified polyphenylsulfone, materials selected for their resistance to high temperatures, pressure cycling, and chlorinated water. This fitting is a domestically sourced component intended for professional installation in residential and light commercial plumbing systems.
This reducing coupling is suited for applications where a supply main or branch line must step down in diameter, such as transitioning from a distribution manifold trunk to an individual branch run. The ProPEX end style requires a compatible PEX expansion tool and PEX expansion rings to create a watertight, mechanical connection. It is appropriate for use in new construction and retrofit projects where Uponor ProPEX-compatible pipe and fittings are specified.
Designed for use with Uponor ProPEX-compatible PEX pipe and expansion rings in 1-1/2 inch and 3/4 inch nominal sizes. Verify system pressure and temperature ratings against applicable project specifications before installation.
Installation is performed by licensed plumbers familiar with the ProPEX expansion method. Shut off the water supply and depressurize the line before cutting pipe or removing existing fittings. Use a calibrated Uponor-compatible expansion tool sized for each end of this fitting, and confirm expansion rings are fully seated before making the connection. Work must comply with applicable local plumbing codes and standards such as the IPC or UPC.
