The UPONOR LF4547510 is a lead-free brass reducing coupling designed for ProPEX expansion-style PEX tubing systems. It transitions between 1-inch and 3/4-inch nominal pipe sizes, making it a standard fitting for residential and light commercial plumbing distribution layouts where supply lines step down to branch lines. The lead-free brass construction meets drinking water compliance requirements, and the ProPEX end style requires a compatible PEX expansion tool and rings for installation. This coupling is domestically manufactured and suited for potable water, hydronic, and radiant heating applications.
This fitting is used in plumbing and hydronic systems where a size reduction is needed between a main run and a branch connection. Typical installations include residential water distribution systems, in-floor radiant heating manifold branches, and potable water supply rough-ins where 1-inch mains feed 3/4-inch branch lines. The ProPEX connection method provides a reliable, expansion-based joint that does not require solvents, clamps, or crimping tools.
Designed for use with ProPEX expansion-style PEX tubing systems in 3/4-inch and 1-inch nominal sizes. Compatible with UPONOR ProPEX rings and expansion tools rated for these nominal diameters.
Installation requires a ProPEX expansion tool and the correct-size PEX expansion rings for each end of the fitting. Shut off and depressurize the water supply before cutting into an existing line. Work must comply with local plumbing codes, which typically reference IPC or UPC standards for PEX installations. Allow expanded PEX connections to recover fully before pressurizing the system.
