The UEI TEST INSTRUMENTS ca310 is a handheld volt and milliamp process calibrator designed for field technicians who need to source, simulate, and measure process signals with high accuracy. With a basic accuracy of 0.015% for both voltage and mA source and measurement functions, the ca310 delivers reliable readings on 4-20 mA loops and voltage signals. It simultaneously supplies 24V loop power while measuring the output signal, making single-tech loop verification fast and efficient. An embedded 250-ohm HART/BRAIN communication resistance and a sub-display showing span percentage add to its utility on live process control work.
The ca310 is suited for instrumentation and process control applications in commercial and industrial facilities. It is used by instrumentation technicians, HVAC controls specialists, and process engineers to calibrate and verify transmitters, sensors, and control loops. The 20 mA simulate (sink) function supports passive device testing without an external supply. Multiple source patterns including step sweep, linear sweep, manual step, and span check give technicians flexible signal injection options for both commissioning and troubleshooting scenarios.
Designed as a general-purpose field calibrator for 4-20 mA process loops and voltage signal circuits common in industrial instrumentation and commercial HVAC controls applications.
Installation and calibration work with this instrument is typically performed by licensed instrumentation technicians or qualified HVAC controls specialists. Always de-energize and isolate the loop under test before connecting the calibrator unless the procedure specifically calls for live-loop measurement. Verify loop polarity before sourcing or sinking current to avoid damage to connected transmitters or control equipment.
