The UBIQUITI ua-g3-w is a third-generation compact access reader designed for door entry management in UniFi Access control systems. It supports NFC card credentials as well as mobile credentials through Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, giving installers a flexible, multi-method authentication solution. Touch Pass functionality provides a fast, secure tap-to-enter experience. The reader is rated for both indoor and outdoor installation, making it suitable for a wide range of access points in commercial and residential deployments. Licensed access control technicians and low-voltage electricians are the primary trades that specify and install this device.
The ua-g3-w is used in door access control installations where a modern, credential-flexible reader is required. It integrates directly with the UniFi Access platform, functioning as a front-end reader tied to UniFi Access hubs and controllers. Typical install scenarios include office entry doors, server room access points, and secured building entrances where both physical card and mobile credential support is needed. The compact form factor suits single-gang wall box mounting at standard door-frame height.
Designed for use with UniFi Access systems. Specific compatible hub models and controller firmware versions should be verified against current Ubiquiti UniFi Access documentation prior to installation.
Installation should be performed by a licensed low-voltage electrician or access control technician familiar with NEC low-voltage wiring requirements. Power down the access hub or associated door controller before wiring the reader. Mount at ADA-compliant door-frame height per applicable building codes. Do not expose the wiring terminations to moisture before the enclosure is fully sealed in outdoor applications.
