The TWECO 1140-1305 is a 14 Series standard duty tapered contact tip designed for MIG welding applications. Built from extruded or gun-drilled 122 DHP copper alloy tubing, it delivers consistent electrical conductivity and a smooth bore surface held to a tolerance of plus or minus 0.003 inches. The tip measures 1.5 inches in length, features a 1/4 inch-28 UNF-2A threaded connection, and is rated for use in standard welding applications up to 400 amps. Its thick-walled construction acts as a heat sink, drawing heat away from the arc source. Licensed MIG welding technicians and welding professionals install this tip as a routine consumable during MIG gun maintenance.
This contact tip is suited for standard MIG welding operations in both fabrication and production environments. It is compatible with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. The 0.045 inch wire diameter sizing makes it a common choice for structural, light manufacturing, and general-purpose MIG welding setups. Each pack contains 25 tips, making it practical for high-volume shops and field service kits. The tip accommodates slip-on or thread-on nozzle styles depending on gun configuration.
Rated for use with 200 to 400 amp Tweco No. 2, No. 3, and No. 4 MIG guns as well as specific Tweco MIG gun series. Compatible with both slip-on and thread-on nozzle styles.
Installation is performed by welding technicians as part of routine MIG gun consumable replacement. Always power down the welding machine and allow the gun to cool before removing a worn contact tip. Use the twist-lock engagement method to seat the tip properly against the gas diffuser — do not over-torque threaded components. Confirm wire diameter matches tip bore size before resuming welding operations.
