The TWECO 1040-1134 is a Professional No. 4 Classic Series air-cooled MIG gun rated at 400 amps with a 60% duty cycle using CO2 gas. Designed for semi-automatic welding, it feeds 1/16-inch wire through a 12-foot lead cable with a Miller-style rear connection. The oval-shaped handle is molded from high-impact, crush-resistant plastic and balances at its center to reduce operator fatigue during extended use. The three-layer conductor tube — copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal jacket — provides a reliable current path from the handle to the contact tip. A silver-plated trigger with self-cleaning contacts and a fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection round out the core design.
This MIG gun is suited for medium- to heavy-duty fabrication in industrial, production, and maintenance environments. Application areas include shop fabrication, farm equipment repair, production welding, and general maintenance and repair work. The 12-foot cable length gives the operator reach on larger workpieces while the Miller-style connection integrates directly with compatible wire feeders. The 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube swivels 360 degrees around the handle, making it practical across a wide range of welding positions and joint configurations.
Features a Miller-style rear connection for integration with compatible Miller wire feeders. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and other Tweco Professional No. Series guns, reducing the need for separate consumable inventories.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician or maintenance professional familiar with MIG welding equipment. Power down the wire feeder and disconnect from the power source before connecting or disconnecting the gun cable. Verify that the rear connection style matches the feeder before installation, and inspect the Cablehoz liner and contact tip seating after assembly. Follow all applicable OSHA and AWS safety guidelines for welding equipment setup and operation.
