The TWECO 1040-1130 is a Professional No. 4 Classic Series air-cooled MIG gun rated at 400 amps with a 10-foot lead cable and Miller-style rear connection. Designed for semi-automatic MIG welding, it accepts wire sizes from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and delivers a 60% duty cycle when used with CO2 shielding gas. The gun features a three-layer conductor tube construction consisting of a copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal jacket for durability and consistent current delivery. A fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection allows fast hookup and disconnection at the wire feeder. The 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube swivels a full 360 degrees around the handle for maneuverability in tight or awkward welding positions.
This MIG gun is suited for medium to heavy-duty fabrication in industrial, shop, production, and maintenance and repair environments. The oval-shaped handle has been an industry standard for over 40 years and is built from a high-impact, crush-resistant plastic composition. A steel spring strain relief at the rear of the handle supports the Cablehoz and minimizes wire feed issues during extended use. The gun is balanced to pivot at the center of the handle, reducing operator fatigue across long shifts. A bottom-mounted gun hanger provides a safe resting point when the gun is not in use.
Designed for use with Miller-style wire feeders. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with Tweco Spray Master series and Tweco Professional No. Series guns.
Installation and servicing of MIG welding equipment should be performed by a qualified welding technician familiar with the wire feeder and power source in use. Disconnect and de-energize the welding power source before connecting or disconnecting the gun cable at the wire feeder. Verify that the contact tip size matches the wire diameter being used before operation. Consult the wire feeder manufacturer's documentation to confirm rear-connection compatibility before final assembly.
