The TWECO 1040-1112 is the Professional No. 4 Classic Series MIG gun rated at 400 amps, designed for semi-automatic MIG welding in medium to heavy-duty fabrication environments. It accommodates wire sizes up to 1/16 inches and ships with a 12-foot lead cable that uses a Tweco-style rear connection for reliable wire feedability. The air-cooled design delivers a 60% duty cycle when run with CO2 gas. A 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube swivels a full 360 degrees around the handle, and the three-layer conductor tube construction — copper tube, silicon-resin glass insulator, and metal jacket — provides a consistent current path to the contact tip. Licensed welding technicians and industrial fabricators install this gun in production and maintenance settings.
This gun is suited for a wide range of applications including shop fabrication, production welding, maintenance and repair, and light industrial work such as farm and garage environments. The oval-shaped handle is balanced to pivot at its center, reducing operator fatigue across extended welding sessions. The Mig-Kwik connection allows quick hookup and disconnection at the wire feeder. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and other Tweco Professional No. Series guns, which reduces inventory requirements for shops running multiple guns.
Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and Tweco Professional No. Series guns. An adapter plug is required for wire feeder connection. Designed for semi-automatic MIG welding systems using CO2 or compatible shielding gas.
Installation and setup should be performed by a qualified welding technician familiar with MIG welding equipment and applicable safety standards. Disconnect and de-energize the wire feeder before connecting or disconnecting the gun at the feeder connection. Verify that the conductor tube and Cablehoz are secured with both ball-point screws before initiating a weld. Do not exceed the rated 400A output or the specified duty cycle to avoid heat damage to the gun or cable assembly.
