The TWECO 1040-1101 is a Professional No. 4 Classic Series air-cooled MIG gun rated at 400 amps with a 60% duty cycle using CO2 gas. It accepts wire sizes from 0.035 to 0.045 inches and ships with a 10-foot lead cable featuring a Tweco-style rear connection and a fully insulated Mig-Kwik connection for quick hookup and disconnection at the wire feeder. The gun is designed for semi-automatic MIG welding in medium- and heavy-duty fabrication environments. Licensed welders and professional fabricators install this gun in production shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial settings where reliable wire feedability and long service life are required.
The 1040-1101 suits a wide range of applications including production welding, maintenance and repair, farm and shop fabrication, and general industrial metalwork. The 10-foot cable provides enough reach for most bench and positional welding scenarios. The 60-degree metal jacket conductor tube swivels a full 360 degrees around the handle, making it well suited for tight-access and multi-position welds. Front-end consumables are interchangeable with other Tweco Professional No. Series and Spray Master Series guns, which simplifies consumable stocking across a mixed fleet of guns.
Front-end consumables are interchangeable with the Tweco Spray Master series and Tweco Professional No. Series guns. The gun uses a Tweco-style rear connection compatible with standard Tweco-style wire feeders.
Installation should be performed by a qualified welding technician or electrician familiar with semi-automatic MIG welding equipment. Power down and de-energize the wire feeder before connecting or disconnecting the gun. Verify that the feeder drive roll groove matches the selected wire diameter before operation. Follow the manufacturer's instructions and applicable electrical codes when routing and securing the lead cable to avoid sharp bends that can restrict wire feedability.
