The TUNGALOY 6863121 is a replaceable carbide drill tip designed for the Drill Meister modular drilling system. It features a 0.8110-inch (20.60 mm) cutting diameter with a 140-degree drill point angle and an Insert Geometry designation of DMP. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide in grade AH725 and carries a TiAlN coating for heat resistance and wear life in demanding cutting applications. Seat size 20 positions this tip in the mid-range of the Drill Meister lineup. Licensed machinists, CNC operators, and tooling technicians install and swap these tips at the machine, reducing downtime compared to full-body drill replacement.
This tip is intended for use in steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, and titanium workpieces - ISO material groups P, M, K, and S. It suits production environments where consistent hole quality and rapid tip changeover are priorities. The Drill Meister system is commonly found on CNC machining centers and turning centers in aerospace, general manufacturing, and heavy fabrication shops. This tip does not include through-coolant capability, so external or flood coolant delivery should be planned accordingly at setup.
Designed for use with TUNGALOY Drill Meister modular drill holders accepting insert seat size 20. ISO number DMP206 identifies the specific tip body geometry for holder matching. Verify holder seat size and geometry code before installation.
Replaceable drill tip installation and removal is performed by a machinist or tooling technician at the machine tool. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state before tip removal or installation. Clean the holder pocket and seating surfaces before fitting the new tip to ensure accurate seating and concentricity. Follow the holder manufacturer's torque procedure for the clamping screw; do not use excessive force on the carbide tip body.
