The TUNGALOY 6850162 is a CNMA-style indexable turning insert designed for high-productivity metal cutting on CNC and manual lathes. Built from solid carbide and finished with a multilayer CVD coating of TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers thermal resistance and wear protection suited to interrupted and continuous cuts. The insert carries an 80-degree diamond shape, a neutral hand orientation, and a honed cutting edge, producing a stable, controlled chip under heavy stock removal. Four usable cutting edges extend tool life between changeovers. Primary target material is cast iron in the K15 to K30 hardness range. This insert is handled and installed by machinists and CNC operators in production turning applications.

This insert is sized to the CNMA 543 industry standard, with a 5/8-inch inscribed circle and a 1/4-inch thickness, making it compatible with CNMA 543 toolholders that use clamp-and-pin holding methods.
