Product Description

The TUNGALOY 6781028 is a CCMT060202-PS turning insert in manufacturer grade T9225, designed for single-point metal cutting operations including turning, facing, and boring. Built from solid carbide with a multilayer CVD coating of TiN, TiCN, Al2O3, and TiN, this insert delivers wear resistance and thermal stability across a wide range of cutting conditions. It features an 80-degree diamond insert shape, a positive rake angle of 10 degrees, a honed cutting edge, and a PS chip breaker geometry. With two cutting edges and screw-style insert holding, it fits standard CCMT toolholders commonly found in CNC lathes and manual turning centers.

This insert is suited for turning, facing, and boring operations on steel, stainless steel, and cast iron workpieces, covering material grades P15 and P25. Compatibility

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC technicians. Before indexing or replacing the insert, power down and lock out the machine spindle per applicable shop lockout/tagout procedures. Seat the insert fully in the toolholder pocket and tighten the clamping screw to the toolholder manufacturer's specified torque using the appropriate Torx or hex key. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating to ensure proper contact and runout.
