Product Description

The TUNGALOY 6780833 is a CNMG 432 TH indexable turning insert in grade T9225, designed for external turning, facing, and boring operations on CNC lathes and turning centers. The insert features a multilayer CVD coating - TiN, TiCN, and Al2O3 TiN - applied over a solid carbide substrate, delivering wear resistance and thermal stability across a range of cutting conditions. The 80-degree diamond shape provides four cutting edges per insert. The TH chip breaker geometry, chamfered and honed cutting edge, and negative rake angle (-20 degrees) make this insert well suited for moderate to roughing cuts on difficult materials.

This insert is intended for machining steel, stainless steel, and cast iron, corresponding to ISO material groups P and M and K (material grades P15 and P25). Typical applications include general-purpose turning and facing on production runs where consistent tool life across multiple workpiece materials is required. The TH chip breaker is designed to handle chip control in continuous and semi-interrupted cuts at moderate depths up to 0.2362 inches. It is held by clamp and pin methods and complies with ANSI and ISO standards for the CNMG 432 insert family.
