The TUF-TITE 12X12-RIS is a 12-inch tall, high-density polyethylene (HDPE) septic tank riser designed to extend access to buried septic tank lids without requiring excavation at each service visit. Molded from high-density polyethylene III (HDPE), this riser resists soil pressure, moisture, and chemical exposure typical in septic environments. The stackable design allows risers to be combined in 12-inch increments to match varying burial depths. Septic system installers and service technicians install this riser to bring tank access to or near grade level, reducing labor time on routine pump-outs and inspections.

This riser is intended for residential and light commercial septic tank installations where improving surface access to the tank lid is required. It is used by licensed septic system contractors and plumbers during new installations or as a retrofit on existing systems. The 12-inch diameter fits a specific range of TUF-TITE tank openings and is available in other diameters including 16 inches, 20 inches, and 24 inches to suit different tank configurations.

Compatibility

Compatible only with TUF-TITE risers and TUF-TITE lids. TUF-TITE risers and lids are not interchangeable with Polylok products. Lids sold separately must be TUF-TITE-branded to fit this riser.

Installation Notes

Installation is performed by licensed septic system contractors or plumbers in accordance with local and state onsite wastewater regulations. The tank should be pumped and the work area made safe before placing risers over an open tank opening. Risers are typically sealed to the tank collar and to each other with appropriate butyl or approved sealant per local code requirements. Never stand on or apply point loads to the riser body unless a rated load-bearing lid is installed.
