The TRU-MAXX TUA2A2FCC150K is a rectangular silicon carbide dressing stick used to true, dress, and open the face of grinding wheels. It removes loading, glazing, and out-of-round conditions from abrasive wheels, restoring cutting action and maintaining wheel geometry. The vitrified bond holds the 150-grit silicon carbide abrasive in a rigid matrix that breaks down predictably under use, continuously exposing fresh cutting grains. At 6 inches long with a 0.5 x 0.5 inch cross-section, this stick is sized for hand dressing operations on bench grinders, surface grinders, and tool-and-cutter grinders. Machinists, tool grinders, and maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This dressing stick is suited for truing aluminum oxide and other conventional abrasive wheels used in general-purpose grinding applications. The 150-grit silicon carbide construction makes it appropriate for medium-finish dressing where the goal is to restore wheel flatness and remove embedded workpiece material without aggressive stock removal from the wheel face. It is commonly used in machine shops, maintenance departments, and production grinding operations on both bench-mounted and pedestal-style grinders.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement dressing stick for use with conventional abrasive grinding wheels in bench, pedestal, and surface grinding applications.
Dressing sticks are used by machinists and tool grinders and require no installation in the traditional sense, but safe operating practices apply. Power down and allow the grinding wheel to come to a complete stop before inspecting the wheel face or handling the stick near the wheel. When dressing, apply the stick to the moving wheel face with light, even pressure using a work rest or fixture where possible to maintain control. Always wear appropriate eye protection when operating or dressing grinding equipment, in accordance with ANSI B11 grinding safety standards.
