The TRU-MAXX 7040 is a coated abrasive belt designed for aggressive material removal on portable and stationary belt sanding equipment. It measures 3/8 inches wide by 24 inches long and runs a 40-grit aluminum oxide abrasive on a closed-coat, polyester cloth backing rated at X-weight. The coarse 40-grit designation makes it well suited for rapid stock removal, weld blending, and surface conditioning on metal, wood, and composite materials. Dry-use operation keeps the application straightforward for bench-mounted or handheld belt sanders in shop environments.
This belt fits narrow-profile belt sander configurations common in fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing pipe prep, and general maintenance applications. The 3/8-inch width targets detail sanding on tight contours, tubing, and narrow workpieces where wider belts cannot reach. Tradespeople and maintenance technicians working with ferrous and non-ferrous metals will find the coarse grit effective for deburring, rust removal, and prepping surfaces for welding or coating.
Designed as a replacement abrasive belt for narrow belt sanders accepting a 3/8-inch by 24-inch belt size in dry-use applications.
Installation is performed by any tradesperson or shop technician operating a compatible belt sander. Power down and unplug the sander before changing belts. Confirm belt tracking and tension per the tool manufacturer guidelines before resuming operation. Inspect the belt for tears or separation before each use and discard any belt showing signs of damage.
