The TRU-MAXX 66253292490 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cutting action and holds its form well under moderate grinding pressure. It measures 8 inches in diameter, 1/4 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, and carries an 80-grit, J-hardness (medium) rating suited to general-purpose surface grinding. Rated at a maximum of 3600 RPM, it is a standard choice for surface grinders used in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and production environments.
This wheel fits surface grinders with an 8-inch wheel capacity and a 1-1/4 inch spindle arbor. The 80-grit aluminum oxide construction makes it well-suited for grinding carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous workpieces where a balance of material removal rate and surface finish is needed. The semi-friable grain structure with a grain structure number of 6 allows the wheel to fracture at a controlled rate, maintaining sharp cutting edges through the grind cycle. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians are the typical installers and operators of this wheel.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard-fit wheel for surface grinders accepting an 8-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thick, Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing must be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following ANSI B7.1 safe-use guidelines. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks using the ring test — a clear tone indicates integrity, a dull thud indicates a compromised wheel that must not be used. Power down and lock out the grinder before removing the old wheel or seating the new one. Never exceed the rated maximum spindle speed of 3600 RPM.
