The TRU-MAXX 66253269798 is a Type 2 vitrified silicon carbide grinding wheel designed for precision grinding and finishing operations. With a 6-inch diameter, 1-inch face width, and 120-grit fine abrasive, this wheel delivers controlled material removal on hard, brittle, and non-ferrous workpiece materials. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and consistent abrasive exposure throughout the wheel life. Rated to a maximum of 3,600 RPM, it is suited for bench grinder and pedestal grinder applications where dimensional accuracy and surface finish are the priority. Machinists, tool-and-die workers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this wheel.
This wheel is appropriate for grinding carbide tooling, ceramics, cast iron, and other hard or abrasive materials that silicon carbide abrasives handle efficiently. The fine 120-grit grade makes it well-suited for finishing passes and touch-up work on cutting tools and precision components rather than aggressive stock removal. The green silicon carbide composition is the standard choice for grinding cemented carbides and non-metallic materials in toolroom and maintenance shop environments.
Designed as a replacement-style Type 2 grinding wheel for bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole and spindles rated to accommodate a 6-inch diameter wheel at or below 3,600 RPM.
Grinding wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Before mounting, inspect the wheel for cracks or chips using the ring test. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum rating marked on the wheel. Always use the appropriate flanges and blotters when mounting, and dress the wheel before first use to true the face.
