The TRU-MAXX 66253269728 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on surface grinders. It measures 7 inches in diameter, 1/2 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. The wheel uses a ceramic abrasive grain bonded in a vitrified matrix, rated at 80 grit with a J hardness code and medium grade. Specification code 183A80J6V31 identifies the exact wheel formulation. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is suitable for controlled-depth flat surface grinding applications in tool rooms and production environments. At 1.5 pounds, it is straightforward to mount and balance on standard surface grinder spindles.
This wheel is intended for surface grinding operations on ferrous and hard materials where a medium-grade ceramic wheel provides consistent cut rate and finish quality. The vitrified bond offers good porosity for coolant penetration and maintains wheel form well under moderate grinding pressures. It is a non-porous, blue-colored wheel with no recess, making it compatible with standard surface grinder flange sets. Machinists, tool and die makers, and maintenance technicians performing precision flat grinding work are the primary installers and users of this wheel type.
Designed as a standard Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel for use on surface grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/2-inch wide wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole and flange mount.
Surface grinding wheels must be installed by qualified personnel following ANSI B7.1 safety standards for the use, care, and protection of abrasive wheels. Always perform a ring test before mounting and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum wheel rating. Power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing the wheel. Never force the wheel onto the spindle arbor or over-tighten flanges, as excessive clamping pressure can crack vitrified wheels.
