The TRU-MAXX 66253269672 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel engineered for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cut rates and good wheel integrity under sustained grinding pressure. At 10 inches in diameter with a 3/4-inch thickness and a 3-inch arbor hole, this wheel fits standard surface grinder spindles used in machine shops and tool rooms. The 60 grit, J hardness (medium grade) combination suits general-purpose surface grinding where moderate material removal and a reasonably smooth finish are both required. Maximum rated speed is 3,250 RPM. Weight is 4 pounds.
This wheel is suited for surface grinding applications in machine shops, tool and die operations, and production grinding environments. The aluminum oxide grain with semi-friable characteristics makes it effective on carbon steels, alloy steels, and similar ferrous workpieces. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and porosity control suited to wet or dry surface grinding on reciprocating or rotary surface grinders equipped with a 3-inch spindle bore. The medium grade and grain structure rating of 5 make it appropriate for a broad range of general surface grinding tasks on hardened and unhardened steel.
Designed for use on surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 10-inch diameter, 3/4-inch thickness, and 3-inch arbor hole running at or below 3,250 RPM.
Grinding wheels must be installed and dressed by a qualified machinist or grinding machine operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards. Before mounting, perform a ring test to check for cracks, and confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3,250 RPM wheel rating. Always use proper flanges and a blotter on each side of the wheel, and stand clear of the wheel plane during startup. Never force the arbor hole — the wheel should slide onto the spindle without binding.
