The TRU-MAXX 66253269567 is a Type 11 vitrified aluminum oxide grinding wheel designed for tool grinding and surface finishing applications. At 4 inches in diameter with a 1-1/2 inch overall thickness and a 1/4 inch face width, this wheel fits standard bench and pedestal grinders used in machine shops and maintenance environments. The aluminum oxide abrasive is friable, meaning it fractures to expose fresh cutting edges during use, which extends wheel life and maintains consistent cut action. Rated at a maximum of 5,730 RPM, the K hardness code and medium grade designation indicate a well-balanced bond that releases abrasive grains at a controlled rate. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die workers, and industrial maintenance technicians are the primary users.
This grinding wheel is suited for offhand tool grinding, sharpening high-speed steel cutting tools, and general-purpose stock removal on ferrous metals. The Type 11 flaring cup profile concentrates the cutting action on the face width, making it appropriate for clearance angle grinding and face grinding of drill bits, lathe tools, and similar toolroom cutting tools. The non-porous, vitrified bond structure performs consistently across a range of light-to-moderate grinding pressures common in bench grinder work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit grinding wheel for bench and pedestal grinders accepting a 1-1/4 inch hole arbor and Type 11 cup wheel profile.
Grinding wheels must be mounted and dressed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting — never mount a damaged wheel. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, confirm the machine RPM rating meets or exceeds the wheel maximum RPM, and use the correct flanges and blotters for the arbor size. Always dress the wheel face before first use to ensure true running and proper surface contact.
