The TRU-MAXX 66253255869 is a Type 1 straight surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals. It is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a vitrified bond, giving it the rigidity and thermal stability required for surface grinder applications. At 80 grit with a J hardness code and a medium grade structure rated 6, this wheel balances material removal rate with finish quality. The semi-friable grain continuously fractures to expose fresh cutting edges, extending wheel life during sustained grinding passes. Rated to 3600 RPM maximum, it is suited for use on horizontal spindle surface grinders in shop and production environments.
This wheel is intended for use on horizontal spindle reciprocating table surface grinders commonly found in machine shops, tool and die operations, and maintenance grinding applications. The Type 1 straight profile fits standard surface grinder spindle arbors and is appropriate for grinding flat surfaces on steel, cast iron, and similar ferrous workpiece materials. Installation and dressing are performed by machinists and grinding technicians. The white aluminum oxide composition makes it a general-purpose choice for tool steels and hardened materials where heat buildup must be minimized.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for horizontal spindle surface grinders accepting a Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore.
Grinding wheels must be installed, ring-tested, and dressed by a qualified machinist or grinding technician before use. Always power down and lock out the grinder before mounting or removing a wheel. Inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before installation and never exceed the rated maximum RPM of 3600. Wheel dressing with a diamond dresser or dressing stick is required before initial use and periodically during service to maintain a true, open cutting face.
