The TRU-MAXX 66253255636 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals and similar materials. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, this wheel delivers consistent cut rates and maintains its shape under sustained contact. At 60 grit with a J hardness rating and medium grade classification, it balances aggressive material removal with reasonable wheel life. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to self-sharpen during use, reducing glazing on harder workpiece materials. Machinists and tool grinders working with surface grinders will find this wheel suited for general-purpose wet or dry surface grinding applications.
This grinding wheel is intended for use on horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore. The 7 inch diameter and 1/4 inch thickness make it a common fit for benchtop and mid-size surface grinder spindles found in job shops, maintenance facilities, and toolrooms. The vitrified bond construction performs reliably across a broad range of surface speeds up to the rated maximum, making it a practical choice for production and maintenance grinding tasks where consistent finish quality is required.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or standard consumable for horizontal-spindle surface grinders equipped with a 1-1/4 inch arbor bore accepting Type 1 straight wheels at 7 inches diameter.
Wheel mounting and dressing should be performed by a qualified machinist or grinding specialist following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always ring-test the wheel before mounting and inspect for cracks or chips. Confirm the machine spindle speed does not exceed the 3600 RPM maximum marked on the wheel before operation. Use appropriate flanges and blotters as specified by the grinder manufacturer, and dress the wheel face before the first cut to ensure true running.
