The TRU-MAXX 66253255589 is a Type 1 surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal and surface finishing on ferrous metals and similar workpiece materials. The wheel is constructed from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded in a vitrified matrix, a combination that provides consistent cut rate and good form retention throughout the wheel life. At 60 grit and K hardness, this wheel sits in the medium-grade range, making it appropriate for general-purpose surface grinding where moderate material removal and a reasonably smooth finish are both required. Rated to a maximum of 3600 RPM, it is suited for use on common surface grinders found in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and tool rooms. Installation and dressing are performed by qualified machinists or grinding equipment operators.
This wheel is used on horizontal-spindle surface grinders in both production and maintenance grinding applications. The 7-inch diameter and 1-1/4-inch arbor hole size fit a wide range of standard surface grinder spindle configurations. The 1/4-inch thickness makes it well suited for flat surface work where a straight wheel profile is required. Non-porous construction and a white wheel color are consistent with standard aluminum oxide finishing wheels used on tool steels, alloy steels, and general ferrous workpieces in job shop and industrial maintenance environments.
Designed as a direct-mount replacement or stock grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a 7-inch diameter, 1/4-inch thick, Type 1 straight wheel with a 1-1/4-inch arbor hole running at or below 3600 RPM.
Grinding wheel installation must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and applicable OSHA standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always inspect the wheel for cracks or chips before mounting and perform a ring test prior to use. Power down and lock out the grinder before changing wheels, and never exceed the maximum RPM rating stamped on the wheel or its blotter. Dress the wheel with an appropriate diamond dresser before first use to ensure proper face geometry and runout.
