The TRU-MAXX 66253255238 is a Type 1 bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for general-purpose material removal and tool sharpening on stationary bench grinders and pedestal grinders. At 12 inches in diameter and 2 inches thick, this is a full-size production wheel suited for industrial shops, maintenance facilities, and tool rooms. The abrasive material is aluminum oxide with an 80-grit, medium-grade specification, making it appropriate for stock removal on ferrous metals including carbon steel and tool steel. The vitrified bond provides rigidity and good form-holding during the grind. Maximum rated speed is 2,705 RPM. The wheel weighs 13.58 pounds.
This wheel mounts on bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-1/2 inch arbor bore. The 80-grit, medium-grade combination is a common shop standard for reshaping cutting edges, deburring weld seams, and general ferrous metal grinding where a balance of stock removal rate and surface finish is needed. No bushing is included. Machinists, tool and die workers, maintenance mechanics, and fabricators are the primary users. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to fracture at a controlled rate, continually exposing fresh cutting edges during use.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or upgrade wheel for bench grinders and pedestal grinders accepting a 12-inch diameter, 2-inch wide Type 1 wheel with a 1-1/2 inch arbor bore. No additional bushing is included.
Installation should be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B7.1 safe use of abrasive wheel standards. Before mounting, ring-test the wheel by suspending it and tapping lightly — a clear ring indicates an undamaged wheel; a dull thud indicates cracks and the wheel must not be used. Ensure the machine is fully de-energized and locked out before removing the old wheel or mounting the new one. Never exceed the 2,705 RPM maximum rated speed of the wheel, and confirm the grinder spindle speed is at or below that rating before operation.
