The TRU-MAXX 66253255172 is a Type 1 bench and pedestal grinding wheel designed for material removal and tool sharpening on standard bench grinders and pedestal grinder stands. The wheel measures 10 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole. It is made from aluminum oxide abrasive bonded with a vitrified bond, rated at a medium grade (hardness P) with a grain structure of 5 and semi-friable characteristics. At 60 grit, it is suited for general-purpose stock removal on ferrous metals. Maximum operating speed is 3250 RPM. The wheel weighs 7.86 pounds. Machinists, tool and die workers, and maintenance technicians are the primary installers and users of this wheel.
This grinding wheel is suited for bench grinder and pedestal grinder applications in machine shops, maintenance facilities, and industrial production environments. Its 60-grit medium-grade aluminum oxide construction handles general-purpose grinding of steel, iron, and other ferrous materials. Typical use cases include tool sharpening, edge dressing, and light to moderate stock removal. No bushing is included, so verify arbor bore compatibility before mounting. The specification code for this wheel is 27A60P5V13.
Designed for use on bench grinders and pedestal grinders with a 1-1/4 inch arbor spindle and a wheel capacity of 10 inches or larger. No bushing is included; reducer bushings may be required for spindles smaller than 1-1/4 inch.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or maintenance technician familiar with ANSI B7.1 grinding wheel safety standards. Disconnect and lock out power to the grinder before mounting or removing any wheel. Perform a ring test by tapping the wheel gently — a clear tone indicates an undamaged wheel, while a dull sound indicates a crack and the wheel must not be used. After mounting, run the wheel at operating speed with the guard in place for at least one minute before grinding to confirm safe operation.
