The TRU-MAXX 66243496725 is a Type 5 recessed surface grinding wheel designed for precision stock removal on surface grinders. Built with aluminum oxide abrasive and a vitrified bond, it delivers consistent cutting action across ferrous metals and tool steels. The wheel measures 7 inches in diameter and 1 inch thick, with a 1-1/4 inch arbor hole, a 3-inch recess diameter, and a 1/2 inch recess depth on one side. At 46 grit with an H hardness code and coarse grade, it suits aggressive material removal where surface finish is secondary to throughput. Rated at 3,600 RPM maximum, it is sized for bench-mounted and pedestal surface grinders used in machine shops and maintenance environments.
This wheel is intended for surface grinding applications on horizontal-spindle, recessed-wheel surface grinders. The coarse 46-grit aluminum oxide construction handles general-purpose grinding of carbon steel, alloy steel, and similar ferrous workpieces. The semi-friable grain structure allows the wheel to self-dress moderately under load, maintaining a reasonably open cutting face without excessive glazing. Typical users include machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance professionals performing flat-surface stock removal or workpiece cleanup in shop environments.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement surface grinding wheel for horizontal-spindle surface grinders accepting a Type 5 wheel with a 7-inch diameter, 1-inch face width, and 1-1/4 inch arbor hole.
Grinding wheel mounting must be performed by a qualified operator following ANSI B11.9 and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.215 standards for abrasive wheel machinery. Always ring-test the wheel for cracks before mounting and inspect the arbor flanges for proper fit and blotter placement. Never exceed the 3,600 RPM maximum speed rating stamped on the wheel. Run the wheel under guard at operating speed for at least one minute before bringing it into contact with the workpiece.
