The TRU-MAXX 5119 is a silicon carbide abrasive shop roll designed for medium-grade material removal and surface finishing across a wide range of trade and shop applications. The roll measures 2 inches wide by 25 yards long, giving tradespeople a continuous, tear-to-length abrasive that adapts to hand sanding, block sanding, or wrapping around custom forms. At 120 grit, it sits in the medium-grade range, making it well-suited for blending, deburring, and intermediate stock removal on metal, composites, fiberglass, and similar hard surfaces. The screen roll backing allows debris to pass through the abrasive surface, reducing loading and extending usable life compared to solid paper or cloth backings.
This shop roll fits naturally into metal fabrication shops, HVAC sheet metal work, plumbing rough-in prep, electrical panel enclosure finishing, and general maintenance environments. The 2-inch width is a practical size for fitting into tight channels, around pipe fittings, and along weld seams. Technicians in the field commonly tear lengths from the roll to wrap around dowels or use flat for hand work, making a 25-yard roll a cost-efficient supply for ongoing shop use. The silicon carbide grain cuts aggressively on hard, non-ferrous, and coated surfaces where aluminum oxide grains wear prematurely.
Designed as a general-purpose abrasive shop roll for use by hand or with standard shop roll dispensers accepting 2-inch wide rolls. Suitable for metal, fiberglass, composites, and similar hard or coated surfaces where silicon carbide abrasive is appropriate.
This abrasive roll requires no installation in the traditional sense, but standard safe-use practices apply. Wear appropriate eye protection and gloves when sanding metal or composite surfaces, as silicon carbide grain produces sharp swarf. Ensure workpieces are secure before sanding to prevent movement. Discard worn sections promptly, as reduced grit density on a loaded section can cause uneven surface finish.
