The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 094161 is a reduced shank drill bit engineered for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and similar materials. It features a 61/64 inch (0.9531 inch decimal) cutting diameter paired with a 1/2 inch Weldon shank, allowing it to run in standard 1/2 inch chucks without requiring a larger machine spindle. The 118-degree split point promotes accurate starting and reduces walking on flat surfaces. Constructed from high speed steel with an oxide finish, this bit delivers durable cutting performance across a range of shop and field applications. Licensed tradespeople and machinists working on fabrication, mechanical contracting, or site drilling will find this a reliable production-grade tool.
This drill bit is suited for residential and commercial trade applications where a large-diameter hole is needed but machine spindle size is limited to 1/2 inch capacity. The Weldon shank with three flats provides a positive drive connection that resists slippage under load. The spiral flute geometry promotes chip evacuation during through-hole drilling. It is appropriate for use in hand-held drill motors, drill presses, and magnetic base drills equipped with a 1/2 inch Weldon-style chuck or set-screw holder.
Designed for use in 1/2 inch Weldon-style chucks and set-screw drill holders commonly found on drill presses, magnetic base drills, and compatible portable drill motors. Part of the TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL T9FHD series.
Installation and bit changes should be performed with the drill motor powered off and unplugged or locked out per applicable safety procedures. Secure the Weldon shank firmly using the set screw on the chuck or holder, ensuring contact is made with one of the three flats to prevent rotation. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the material being drilled where required. Worn or damaged bits should be replaced before use to prevent breakage and workpiece damage.
