The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 092131 is a reduced shank jobber-length drill bit built for professional metalworking and fabrication applications. It features a 31/64-inch (0.4844 inch decimal) drill diameter with a 3/8-inch straight-cylindrical reduced shank, allowing it to fit standard 3/8-inch chucks while drilling a larger hole. The 135-degree split point reduces walking and enables faster penetration without a center punch on most metals. Constructed from high speed steel with a coated finish, this bit is designed for durability and heat resistance under continuous use. It is suited for licensed tradespeople and shop technicians who need reliable, consistent performance in production or field drilling tasks.
This bit is intended for right-hand cutting in a range of ferrous and tough alloy materials. Primary workpiece materials include carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and tough alloy. The T8HD series designation places it in a jobber-reduced shank class built for general-purpose drilling where standard shanks are too large for available chuck capacity. Typical install scenarios include HVAC bracket fabrication, electrical panel work, plumbing rough-in drilling through metal studs or strut, and mechanical room metalwork.
Designed for use in 3/8-inch keyed or keyless drill chucks; compatible with carbon steel, cast iron, high alloy steel, high tensile strength alloy, stainless steel, and tough alloy workpieces. Coolant is not required for standard use.
This bit should be installed and used by qualified tradespeople familiar with rotary cutting tools and proper chuck-securing procedures. Secure the workpiece before drilling and verify the chuck is fully tightened on the shank before applying power. Do not exceed recommended drill press or hand drill RPM ranges for the workpiece material and bit diameter. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping, burning, or excessive wear is observed.
