The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 060408 is a screw machine length drill bit engineered for heavy-duty drilling applications in superalloys and other demanding workpiece materials. Measuring 0.125 inches (1/8 inch) in diameter with an overall length of 1.875 inches, this bit fits the T4HD series and features a 135-degree split point for self-centering starts and reduced thrust. The high speed steel (HSS) construction is coated for added wear resistance. A tapered web with web thinning improves chip evacuation and lowers cutting torque in tough materials. Right-hand spiral flutes with a 0.875-inch flute length keep this bit compact and rigid for short-hole work in drill presses, CNC machining centers, and hand-operated power tools.
Screw machine length drill bits are shorter than jobber-length bits, which increases rigidity and reduces deflection in high-cycle production drilling. The 060408 is well suited for metal fabrication shops, aerospace component work, and maintenance machining where superalloys such as stainless, Inconel, and similar materials are common. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw chucks and collet-style toolholders across a wide range of machine spindles. This bit is sold individually but requires a minimum order quantity of 12 units, making it appropriate for shop stock or production tooling replenishment.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct stock bit for applications requiring a 1/8-inch diameter screw machine length drill in the T4HD heavy-duty series, suitable for workpiece materials within the 0.1000 to 0.1500 inch drill bit size range group.
Install and remove drill bits only with the machine spindle fully stopped and the power source locked out per standard lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet to prevent slippage under load. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant for the workpiece material, particularly when drilling superalloys, to extend tool life and maintain dimensional accuracy. Dispose of worn or chipped bits promptly to avoid workpiece damage or injury.
