The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 011532 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for heavy-duty metal drilling in demanding trade and industrial applications. The 1/2-inch diameter bit features a 135-degree split point that is self-centering, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard surfaces. A gold oxide coating extends tool life by resisting heat and wear. The right-hand spiral flute geometry promotes efficient chip evacuation. This bit is built for professionals who regularly drill into alloy steel and similarly tough workpiece materials where standard high-speed steel bits fall short.
This drill bit is suited for fabrication shops, mechanical contractors, pipefitters, and industrial maintenance technicians who need reliable performance in ferrous metals and alloy steels. The T1C Series designation indicates a high-performance, heavy-duty grade intended for production drilling environments as well as field work. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces cutting resistance and improves penetration rates on tough materials. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard 1/2-inch drill chucks found on most corded and cordless drill presses and handheld tools.
Designed for use in standard 1/2-inch straight-cylindrical chuck drill presses and handheld power drills. Primary workpiece materials include alloy steel and alloy. Drill bit size range covered by this series runs from 0.5000 to 0.6500 decimal inches.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists, maintenance technicians, or trade professionals familiar with metal drilling practices. Secure the workpiece firmly before drilling to prevent movement and ensure a clean, accurate hole. Inspect the bit shank and chuck interface for debris before seating, and confirm the chuck is fully tightened before operation. Do not exceed the rated speed range for the material being drilled, and apply appropriate cutting fluid when drilling alloy steels to manage heat buildup.
