The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 011524 is a 3/8-inch diameter cobalt jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built to Series T1C standards, it features a 135-degree split point that reduces walking and enables self-centering entry without a center punch. The gold oxide coating adds surface hardness and helps resist heat buildup during extended drilling operations. At 5 inches overall length with a 3-5/8-inch flute length, this bit delivers the reach and chip clearance needed for production drilling. Licensed trades and maintenance mechanics reach for cobalt bits when high-speed steel falls short on hardened or abrasive stock.
This drill bit is designed for drilling alloy steel and other hard ferrous metals in heavy-duty applications. The straight-cylindrical shank accepts standard three-jaw drill chucks on corded drills, drill presses, and magnetic base drills. The regular spiral flute and tapered web configuration promote efficient chip evacuation in deeper holes. It suits metalworking, fabrication, and mechanical maintenance scenarios where bit longevity and accurate hole placement in tough material matter most. Right-hand cut geometry is compatible with conventional clockwise spindle rotation found on virtually all standard drilling equipment.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length replacement bit suitable for use in standard drill presses, handheld corded or cordless drills, and magnetic base drills equipped with a 3/8-inch or larger three-jaw chuck. Primary workpiece material is alloy and alloy steel per manufacturer specification.
Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in the chuck and tighten with a chuck key before operating. Always power down and de-energize the drill press or disconnect the corded drill before changing bits. Use appropriate cutting fluid or coolant on hardened steel to manage heat, even though this bit does not support through-coolant delivery. Eye protection and secure workpiece fixturing are required per standard shop safety practice.
