The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 011504 is a cobalt jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in tough materials. Built from cobalt with a gold oxide coating, it delivers increased heat and wear resistance compared to standard high-speed steel bits. The 135-degree split point promotes self-centering on contact, reducing the need for a center punch and minimizing walking on hard surfaces. With a straight-cylindrical shank and right-hand spiral flute, it is suited for use in standard drill chucks across a range of stationary and handheld equipment. This bit is rated for heavy-duty use by trade professionals working with alloy and alloy steel workpieces.
The 011504 is intended for drilling alloy and alloy steel in demanding trade applications including mechanical, HVAC fabrication, plumbing rough-in, and electrical panel work where harder fastener materials and structural steel are common. The 1/16 inch diameter and 1-7/8 inch overall length make it appropriate for tight-clearance work and small-diameter hole requirements. The web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust and improves chip evacuation during regular spiral drilling operations. This bit ships individually but carries a minimum order quantity of 12 units.
Designed for use with alloy and alloy steel workpiece materials; fits standard straight-shank drill chucks accepting a 1/16 inch shank diameter. Series T1C jobber length format.
This bit is installed and operated by machinists, pipefitters, electricians, and HVAC sheet metal technicians using standard drill presses or handheld power drills. Ensure the workpiece is secured before drilling and that the chuck is fully tightened on the straight-cylindrical shank. Coolant-through operation is not supported on this bit; use appropriate cutting fluid applied externally when drilling hard alloy steels to manage heat buildup. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or wear is observed.
