The TRIUMPH TWIST DRILL 011028 is a 7/16 inch (0.4375 inch) high speed steel mechanics drill bit built for general-purpose drilling in metal, wood, and plastic. It features a standard 118-degree point angle with web thinning for easier penetration and reduced walking on entry. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks. At 5.5 inches overall length with a 4.0625 inch flute length, it handles a wide range of stock thicknesses. The bright, uncoated finish makes wear patterns easy to spot during inspection. This bit is suited for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, electricians, and plumbers who need a reliable general-purpose twist drill for everyday metalworking and trade applications.
The 011028 is designed for general-purpose drilling tasks across residential, commercial, and light industrial settings. Typical applications include drilling clearance holes in steel brackets, copper or steel pipe flanges, electrical enclosures, and structural framing. The right-hand spiral flute design efficiently clears chips during through-hole and blind-hole drilling. It is equally at home in a bench drill press or a handheld drill driver. The Series T1 designation places it in a well-established line of mechanics-length twist drills intended for production and maintenance environments.
Designed as a general-purpose mechanics-length twist drill compatible with any standard three-jaw drill chuck sized to accept a 7/16 inch straight-cylindrical shank.
Install and remove drill bits only when the drill press or driver is fully powered down and the chuck key is clear. Secure the workpiece with a vise or clamp before drilling - never hold sheet metal or thin stock by hand. Use appropriate cutting fluid when drilling hardened steel or stainless to extend edge life. Inspect the cutting edges before each use and replace the bit if chipping or heat discoloration is present.
