The TRITAN COM 5 is a ball-joint spherical plain bearing designed for applications that require articulating motion under heavy radial and axial loads. It features a 5/16-inch bore diameter and a 3/4-inch outer diameter, with a 3/8-inch width. The bearing carries a dynamic load capacity of 6,475 pounds and a static load capacity of 6,475 pounds. Both the ball and raceway are constructed from steel, and the unit is lubricated with oil from the factory. Licensed HVAC, plumbing, and mechanical professionals install this type of bearing in linkages, control arms, and similar mechanical assemblies where misalignment compensation is required.
The COM 5 bearing is suited for industrial and mechanical service applications where moderate misalignment is expected between mating components. Its ball-joint design accommodates angular misalignment up to 12 degrees, making it a practical choice for pivot points, rod ends, and actuator linkages in both light commercial and industrial equipment. It is sold individually and ships as a single unit.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement spherical plain bearing for mechanical linkage and pivot applications using COM series bearing specifications.
Installation of spherical plain bearings is typically performed by licensed millwrights, mechanical contractors, or qualified maintenance technicians. Shut down and de-energize all equipment before replacing any bearing component. Use appropriate pressing tools to seat the bearing without applying force through the ball element. Consult equipment manufacturer documentation for housing tolerances and recommended fits before installation.
