The TRIPP LITE N818-10M is a duplex multimode fiber optic patch cable designed for 10 Gigabit Ethernet and high-speed data network applications. It features LC connectors on one end and ST connectors on the other, making it suitable for connecting network equipment with mixed connector interfaces. The cable uses 50-micron multimode fiber and is jacketed with Low Smoke Zero Halogen (LSZH) material, which limits toxic gas and smoke emissions in the event of a fire. At 10 meters in length, it is well suited for horizontal or inter-rack runs within a data center or enterprise network closet environment.
This cable is installed by network technicians and structured cabling installers in enterprise data centers, server rooms, and telecommunications closets. It is appropriate for use with 10GbE switches, media converters, network interface cards, and fiber patch panels that accept LC or ST connectors. The LSZH jacket makes it a fit for plenum-adjacent or enclosed spaces where low-smoke materials are specified by building codes or facility standards.
Designed as a standard LC-to-ST duplex multimode patch cable for use with 10GbE-capable switches, transceivers, media converters, and fiber patch panels that accept LC or ST fiber connectors.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network or low-voltage cabling technician. Power down or disable the relevant switch ports before connecting or disconnecting fiber optic cables to protect both the equipment and the installer from active laser sources. Avoid bending the cable beyond its minimum bend radius and do not cinch cable ties tightly around fiber, as this can degrade signal performance. Follow applicable local building and fire codes when routing LSZH-jacketed cable through enclosed or occupied spaces.
