The TRANSITION NETWORKS M/GE-PSW-SX-01(ST)-SA is a mini-form-factor managed media converter switch designed to bridge 10/100/1000BASE-T copper Ethernet and 1000BASE-X fiber connections in enterprise and commercial network environments. Built around an ST fiber connector interface, this device converts standard twisted-pair copper signals to fiber optic media, extending network reach and isolating network segments. It is typically installed by network technicians and IT infrastructure professionals in rack rooms, wiring closets, or edge-of-network locations where copper-to-fiber transitions are required.
This unit is suited for enterprise PoE device deployments where compact, reliable media conversion is needed at the network edge or between building segments. Its mini form factor allows installation in space-constrained environments such as wall-mount enclosures, compact rack shelves, or desktop locations near switches and patch panels. The ST fiber port accommodates standard multimode fiber patch cables commonly found in commercial building cabling plants.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct deployment unit for enterprise gigabit media converter applications requiring an ST fiber port and 10/100/1000BASE-T copper uplink.
Installation should be performed by a qualified network technician familiar with fiber optic handling procedures and enterprise switching environments. Power down or disconnect the associated network switch port before connecting or disconnecting fiber and copper patch cables. Clean ST fiber connectors with approved fiber optic cleaning tools prior to insertion to avoid signal loss. Follow applicable TIA/EIA structured cabling standards for bend radius and cable management.
