The Trane A951X100CU5SA is a single-stage, condensing natural gas furnace built under the RunTru by Trane product line for residential heating applications. It delivers 100,000 BTU/h input and 95,000 BTU/h output at 95% AFUE, meaning 95 cents of every fuel dollar goes directly to usable heat. The unit is configured for upflow operation and is convertible to horizontal left or horizontal right orientation, giving installers flexibility across a range of residential installations. An ECM blower motor supports multi-speed airflow, and an integrated furnace control board provides setup, diagnostics, and a digital status display with the last six errors stored in memory.
This furnace is designed for residential forced-air heating systems where high efficiency and installation flexibility are priorities. The 21-inch cabinet width is an industry-standard dimension that allows compatibility with a broad range of coil cabinets and accessories. The open vestibule design stands 34 inches high and accommodates typical field wiring and component access. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit in new construction and replacement applications where a single-stage, high-efficiency gas furnace is specified.
Designed for residential upflow and horizontal forced-air heating systems. The 21-inch cabinet width meets industry-standard coil and accessory fitment dimensions. Note that part number A951X100CU5SAB is listed as a superseded variant of this unit per Trane Supply records.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician in accordance with local codes, the National Fuel Gas Code (NFGC/ANSI Z223.1), and any applicable local amendments. Shut off gas supply and disconnect electrical power before beginning any installation or service work. Venting must be sized and routed per the manufacturer installation instructions for a condensing furnace, using approved PVC or CPVC vent materials where required. Do not connect this appliance to a B-vent or single-wall metal flue system.
