The Trane A5HP4048A1000 is a 4-ton single-stage split system heat pump condenser manufactured under the RunTru by Trane brand. Rated at 14.3 SEER2 and operating on R-454B refrigerant, this outdoor unit provides both heating and cooling for residential applications. It runs on 208/230V single-phase 60 Hz power, draws 18.1 running load amps, and is factory charged for the outdoor unit plus 10 feet of connecting line with the smallest rated indoor evaporative coil match. Licensed HVAC technicians install this unit as the outdoor half of a matched split system paired with a compatible air handler or furnace coil.
This condenser is designed for residential split system installations where a single outdoor unit serves a whole-home heating and cooling load. It is AHRI rated only when matched with a TXV or EEV-equipped indoor coil or air handler, making proper indoor unit selection critical to achieving rated efficiency. The unit is listed to UL 60335-2-40 and is designed to operate at outdoor ambient temperatures up to 115 degrees F. A sound power level of 72 dB(A) A-weighted makes it suitable for standard residential lot setbacks. All phases of installation must comply with national, state, and local codes.
AHRI rated only with TXV or EEV-equipped indoor coil and air handler matches. One documented system pairing includes the A5AHC007A1D30A air handler. Cooling capacities are matched with a wide selection of AHRI-certified air handlers and furnace coils. Verify AHRI certificate for the specific indoor-outdoor combination before installation.
Installation must be performed by a licensed HVAC technician and must comply with all applicable national, state, and local codes. Disconnect and lock out all electrical power before servicing the unit. Because this system uses R-454B, technicians must use equipment rated and certified for mildly flammable A2L refrigerants and follow all applicable refrigerant handling regulations. Confirm line set length, indoor coil match, and TXV or EEV sizing against the AHRI certificate for the selected system combination before startup.
