The Trane 5TXCB006AS3HC is a cased, multi-position evaporator coil designed for residential split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications. Rated at 42,000 to 48,000 BTU/h across a 3.5 to 4.0 ton capacity range, this coil is factory-configured for use with R-454B refrigerant and ships with a factory-installed non-bleed TXV. The all-aluminum plate-fin construction resists rust and corrosion across the full coil assembly. The B-cabinet width of 17.5 inches fits standard airflow openings, and the four-way multi-position design supports upflow, downflow, and horizontal installations. Licensed HVAC technicians install this coil as the indoor heat-exchange component in a split system paired with a matched outdoor condensing unit or heat pump.
This coil is intended for residential split-system installations requiring a 3.5 to 4.0 ton capacity in upflow, downflow, or horizontal orientation. The 17.5-inch cabinet width suits B-cabinet furnace and air handler configurations. Because the coil is rated for R-454B, an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant, it is suited for new construction and replacement projects where equipment must meet current low-global-warming-potential refrigerant requirements. The factory-installed non-bleed TXV provides refrigerant metering without requiring field assembly of a separate metering device.
Designed for use in residential split-system air conditioning and heat pump applications requiring a 3.5 to 4.0 ton cased evaporator coil rated for R-454B refrigerant in a B-cabinet configuration.
Installation must be performed by an EPA Section 608-certified HVAC technician. Shut down and isolate the refrigerant circuit completely before disconnecting or connecting any refrigerant lines. Because R-454B is classified as an A2L mildly flammable refrigerant, follow all applicable local codes and manufacturer guidelines for handling and ventilation during brazing. Refrigerant line connections are brazed at 7/8-inch gas and 3/8-inch liquid line sizes; verify line set sizing against the outdoor unit specifications before beginning work.
