The TOOLS 24995 is a silver solder flux formulated for use in brazing and soldering applications common to HVAC, plumbing, and refrigeration work. Flux is applied to joint surfaces before heating to prevent oxidation, promote wetting, and help the filler metal flow cleanly into the joint. The 24995 is a service aid designed to be kept in a technician's toolkit for field and shop use wherever silver brazing or soldering is performed.
This flux is suited for residential and light commercial service work involving copper tubing, fittings, and similar metals. It is used during brazing of refrigerant line sets, hydronic piping, and plumbing connections where a clean, well-bonded joint is required. HVAC technicians, plumbers, and refrigeration service pros typically keep this product on hand as a standard consumable for soldering and brazing tasks.
Designed as a general-purpose silver solder flux for use in HVAC, refrigeration, and plumbing brazing and soldering applications.
Apply flux to clean, dry joint surfaces immediately before heating. Shut off all system pressure and recover any refrigerant per EPA Section 608 requirements before opening refrigerant circuits. Use appropriate personal protective equipment including eye protection when working with open flame. Brazing and soldering work on refrigerant systems and gas piping must be performed by qualified, licensed technicians in accordance with applicable local codes.
